Best known to adults as a star of Glee, Chris Colfer is revered by kid fans as the author of the bestselling Land of Stories series. Glee star Chris Colfer has certainly kept busy since the musical TV show ended earlier this year. The fourth book in his New York Times best-selling series, The Land of Stories, comes out Tuesday, and, in addition to writing the books, Colfer also narrates the audiobook.
In The Land of Stories: Beyond the Kingdoms, twins Alex and Conner Bailey round up a group of pals—Goldilocks, Jack, Red Riding Hood, Mother Goose and her gander, Lester—and travel across the Land of Oz, Neverland, and Wonderland to catch up to the fugitive Masked Man.

The fourth installment in Colfer's bestselling fantasy series for children, Beyond the Kingdoms finds twins Connor and Alex embarking on new adventure and promises to unearth secrets from their past.
"I'm just so excited for the fans to see it. I think it might be my favorite cover and my favorite book so far," Colfer tells PEOPLE. "Brandon Dorman, who is my illustrator, is an absolute genius, and he blows me away whenever I get sent his art."
Beyond the Kingdoms hits shelves July 7. In the meantime, here's what Colfer has to say about The Land of Stories, Glee and what's next for his career.

What’s the first information you consume in the morning?
I immediately turn to my cellphone and look to make sure that nothing awful has happened while I’ve been asleep [laughs]. If I’m lucky and I don’t find anything on my phone, I might sleep a little longer.
Where do you get your news?
I’m on the CNN app on my phone a lot. My fans keep me very much in the loop on anything regarding me, which I tend to try to not look at too much because that can get a little cuckoo.

You probably know Chris Colfer as Glee's sassy Kurt Hummel, Queen of ascots. But in real life, Colfer, 24, has a more toned-down style and friendly demeanor (his shoes, "possibly French," he says, are pretty great, though). He's an actor, singer, screenwriter, producer and author.
Today, he's wearing the author hat, to talk about the third title in his The Land of Storiesseries, A Grimm Warning, which just debuted at No. 29 on USA TODAY's book list.
We all know Chris as the Golden Globe winning actor for his work as Kurt Hummel on the hit TV series "Glee," but did you know that he's also a New York Times best-selling author?
He stops by to talk about his latest book, "The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning," and chats with us about his recent Twitter episode, meeting Hillary Clinton and filming the last season of "Glee."
